Coruve

Plausible answers how many. Eventually you ask why.

Plausible is built to be shallow on purpose, and there is a point where that stops being a feature. Here is what Coruve adds when you reach it — funnels, journeys, cohorts and a written brief — and what you would be trading for them.

What Coruve adds

Table-stakes reporting is not on this list — visitors, pages, sources, campaigns, devices, locations, goals and realtime all exist in both products, and you should expect them to. These are the things that are genuinely different.

01

Funnels on every plan, including Free.

Build a multi-step funnel and see exactly which step loses people. The ceilings: Free 3, Starter 25, Pro 100, Growth Unlimited. On Plausible, funnels are a Business-plan feature at $19 a month.

02

Retention cohorts.

Not just whether people arrived, but whether the people who arrived last week came back this week — and the report says out loud when your window is too short to judge, rather than drawing a confident grid over a few days of data.

03

An analyst layer, not just a dashboard.

Coruve compares every metric against its own baseline and writes up what moved, in plain sentences with the numbers it used. The Brief advances daily on Starter and above; on Free the Brief and its email both move once a week, on the Monday. You can ask a chart to explain a change it shows, and ask questions in writing — 3 a day on Free, 50 on Starter.

04

Anomaly findings you did not have to define.

The engine finds unusual movement on its own, with no threshold you had to guess at. Every plan reads those findings in the Brief. Alerts that come to you — email or Slack, your own thresholds, and an incident that freezes the evidence exactly as it stood when the alert fired — are Starter and above.

05

Goals and funnels the product proposes.

Coruve mines your actual traffic every few hours and suggests goals and funnels worth creating, so you are ratifying a suggestion instead of guessing at a setup screen. Not a paid feature — it runs on every plan, including Free.

06

A catalogue of everything clickable.

Coruve catalogues the buttons, links and forms people actually use, gives each one a readable name, and offers that list everywhere an event is needed — so putting a goal on a button is three clicks and you never type an event name anywhere. On Plausible you declare each custom event yourself first, with a CSS class or a script call, before it can be counted at all.

07

AI traffic as a first-class report.

Visitors sent by ChatGPT, Perplexity and Claude counted separately from the AI crawlers fetching your pages, named per assistant — and, on Starter and above, whether those visitors convert better or worse than your other channels.

08

Site health from real visitors.

Load timings, layout shift and responsiveness — INP, the fifth Core Web Vital — measured in your visitors' own browsers rather than a lab, with a percentile band across the range and a split by page, device and country.

09

Frustration signals and click maps.

Rage clicks, clicks that hit nothing, quick exits, and aggregate click and scroll maps — computed from aggregates, never from recordings. Starter and above.

10

Bring your Plausible history with you.

Upload your Plausible CSV export and your history comes across, stored separately and always labelled as Plausible's numbers, so switching does not reset your charts to zero. History import is Starter and above — a Free project keeps 30 days, so there would be nowhere for years of history to live.

Head to head

Plausible's prices below are the 10,000-per-month tier of each plan, taken from their published pricing. Read the volume row before you compare the money rows — the two products do not count the same thing.

  • What a month of volume costs

    Plausible
    Starter $9, Growth $14, Business $19 — each covering 10,000 monthly pageviews.
Events a month: Free 10,000, Starter 100,000, Pro 1,000,000, Growth 5,000,000, at $0, $19, $49 and $99. Read the next row before you compare those numbers with theirs.
  • What counts as one unit

    Plausible
    A pageview.
An event — and a click your visitor makes is an event, the same as a page view. Our own measurements (scroll depth, page-speed timings, clicks that hit nothing) are never billed, but your visitors' clicks are. Do not read 100,000 events as 100,000 pageviews: on a busy interface it can be several times fewer. Run both for a week and compare on your own traffic.
  • Funnels

    Plausible
A Business plan feature, at $19 a month.
On every plan, including Free. Ceilings: Free 3, Starter 25, Pro 100, Growth Unlimited.
  • User journeys

    Plausible
A Business plan feature, at $19 a month.
Every plan, including Free. The routes people actually take through your site, without paying for the tier above.
  • How long your data lives

    Their edge
    Plausible
3 years on Starter and Growth, 5 years on Business.
Days of history: Free 30, Starter 365, Pro 730, Growth 1,095. Shorter than Plausible at every price we charge.
  • Saved segments and annotations

    Plausible
Saved Segments and Annotations on Starter ($9); the shared, team-wide versions of both arrive on Growth ($14).
Annotations on every plan — a note drawn on your Overview, Frustration and AI charts, on the day it happened. Saved segments: Free 3, Starter Unlimited, Pro Unlimited, Growth Unlimited. Building a segment is free on every tier; the ceiling is on keeping them.
  • Revenue attribution

    Their edge
    Plausible
Ecommerce revenue attribution on Business, at $19 a month.
Revenue by channel, campaign, landing page and country, once a payment connection is switched on — and only from Pro, at $49.
  • Programmatic access

    Their edge
    Plausible
Stats API (600 requests an hour) and a Looker/Data Studio connector on Business, at $19.
CSV export from every report your plan includes — the only rows without one are the reports the plan does not carry. The read API, 35 datasets, starts at Pro, $49. No Looker Studio connector.
  • Running it yourself

    Their edge
    Plausible
Open source, with a self-hosted edition.
Neither. Coruve is a hosted product only.
  • Cookies and consent

    Plausible
    Cookieless.
Cookieless. Both products clear this bar; neither of us should get credit for it.

Plausible facts checked on 21 August 2026 against Plausible's own pricing page, their funnel-analysis documentation, their custom-event documentation. Products change; if you find something out of date here, tell us and we will fix it.

The honest part

What Plausible does well — and the trade

Plausible is genuinely good at several things we have not tried to be good at. Here is what leaving would cost you — weigh it against the gains above, because for some readers the honest answer is that the counter is still enough.

  • It keeps your data longer, at every price. Their cheapest $9 plan retains 3 years; our $99 plan retains 1,095 days. If long history is the point, that decides it in their favour.
  • It is open source and you can self-host it; Coruve is hosted only. If never being locked to a vendor is a hard requirement, that property is theirs and it is a real one.
  • It is cheaper to start paying for — $9 against our $19 — and its Business plan covers more sites and more team members than our Starter does. What our tiers buy instead is funnels and journeys on the free plan.
  • Revenue attribution and the Stats API arrive at $19 on their side and $49 on ours.
  • It is simpler, and simplicity is a feature. If “how many visitors, from where, on what pages” is genuinely your whole question, Coruve gives you screens you will not open.
  • It has been around far longer, it is an established European company, and its privacy reputation is earned. We are newer, and a track record is the one thing that cannot be shipped.

What switching actually looks like

  1. 1

    Run both for a fortnight

Add Coruve's script tag alongside Plausible's — both are small and neither interferes with the other. This is also the only reliable way to learn what your traffic costs in events rather than pageviews.

  2. 2

Let Coruve propose the first funnel

Rather than building one from a blank screen, look at what the product suggests from your real traffic and accept or reject it. That is the intended way in, and it is the fastest route to the thing Plausible cannot show you.

  3. 3

Check the honest gaps against your own needs

Look at the retention row and the revenue row above and decide whether they matter to you. Weigh them against the funnels, journeys and cohorts you would gain — that is the whole trade, and only you can price it for your site.

  4. 4

Keep whichever one your team opens

There is no penalty for running both indefinitely. Plenty of sites keep a simple counter and a deeper tool, and that is a legitimate outcome.

Try it beside what you already have

Run both for a week and compare. The Free plan is the trial — one snippet, real data, no credit card.
